Lagos Waterworks Set for Revival in Landmark Partnership

The Lagos Water Corporation has joined forces with WaterAid Nigeria and Armani Beauty to restore the long-dormant Akilo Waterworks, a facility originally established to supply clean, treated water to the Ifako Agege community.

Built in 2012 as part of a broader initiative to expand access to potable water, the facility has since fallen into disrepair, leaving residents grappling with unreliable supply. Many have voiced their frustration over the prolonged lack of access to a resource promised by the state government.
