The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, has deployed officers to tackle fuel queue gridlocks as it warned motorists against indiscriminate parking.
Fuel queues have resurfaced in Lagos State owing to a scarcity of petrol, with many motorists spending hours to get the product, even at higher prices, in filling stations across the state.
In a statement, LASTMA’s spokesman, Adebayo Taofiq, who quoted the General Manager of the agency, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, said the increased deployment is necessary due to reports of long queues at filling stations caused by motorists who park indiscriminately, blocking roads as they wait to purchase fuel.

Fuel queues continued to build up last week with Mallam Abubakar Maigandi Shettima, the President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, saying the major reason for queues in most filling stations across the country was because of the habit of panic buying after Nigerians experienced scarcity.
