The Senate of Lagos State University has called off its industrial action, paving the way for the resumption of academic and social activities from Wednesday 13 August. The decision followed a meeting last Thursday between the university’s Joint Action Committee and the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
A statement from Deputy Registrar and Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations, Thomas-Onashile Oluwayemisi, said students will be allowed back into hostels on campuses in Ojo, Ikeja and Epe from the same date. The Senate directed that the suspended 2024/2025 second semester examinations begin on Monday 18 August, after reviewing updates from the Vice-Chancellor on the outcome of the talks with the state government.
