The Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency (LASURA) is integrating sustainability into its redevelopment strategies, factoring in environmental, social, economic, and physical considerations.
Speaking in Alausa, Ikeja, the agency’s General Manager, Oladimeji Animashaun, acknowledged persistent challenges, including outdated data, inadequate transit camps, and policies that deter private sector participation—key hurdles in the state’s urban renewal efforts.

Despite these obstacles, he emphasised that LASURA remains committed to transforming Lagos into a model for urban regeneration. He highlighted the importance of community engagement, innovative strategies, and effective management in driving meaningful redevelopment.
