Leeds United sign 18-year-old Leonard Ngenge from Remo Stars

Leeds United have signed Nigerian defender Leonard Ngenge from Remo Stars. The English Premier League club announced on Tuesday that the eighteen year old has agreed a one and a half year deal, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2026/2027 season.

Leeds United said Ngenge will initially link up with the club’s academy as he looks to earn promotion to the first team. The club welcomed the defender, expressing confidence in his development within the academy setup.

Ngenge joined Remo Stars in August 2025 and made seven appearances in the first half of the season, scoring on his debut in a four-nil CAF Champions League win over US Zilimadjou of Niger. He previously played for Ikorodu City in the 2024 to 2025 NPFL season and also featured for the home-based Super Eagles at the 2025 African Nations Championship.
