Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu has been ruled out for the rest of the Premier League season after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury while playing for Ghana during the international break. The 20-year-old underwent successful surgery on Wednesday, dealing a significant blow to Leicester’s fight to avoid relegation.
Fatawu had impressed in his debut Premier League campaign, featuring 11 times for Leicester and contributing to their promotion from the Championship last season. His injury, sustained in a match against Angola, marks a premature end to a promising season for the Ghanaian star.
Leicester boss Steve Cooper expressed his disappointment while confirming the severity of the injury.
