Leo Edochie, son of Nollywood veteran Pete Edochie, has dismissed reports circulating on social media that the actor has died. The false claim emerged on X, where a user alleged that the 78-year-old had passed away in hospital under unknown circumstances, citing confirmation from his “elder son”.
In an Instagram post, Leo described the report as a “lie from the pit of hell”, insisting that his father is alive and in good health. He said the family had received several calls over the rumour and condemned those spreading what he called malicious claims.

This is not the first time Pete Edochie has been the subject of a death hoax. In 2022, a similar false report claimed the actor died in a car crash, a claim that was also dismissed by his son, Uche Edochie, who said such rumours had trailed the family for years.
