British singer Liam Payne, a former member of the acclaimed boy band One Direction, tragically died on Wednesday at the age of 31 after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, according to police and emergency responders. The circumstances surrounding the fall remain unclear, with authorities investigating whether it was accidental.
Payne had previously been open about his struggles with alcohol, and police reported responding to a call about “an aggressive man who may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol” prior to the incident.
Following the news of his death, devastated fans, primarily in their 20s and 30s, gathered near the hotel where the tragedy occurred, while medical teams were on the scene.

Alberto Crescenti, the head of Buenos Aires emergency medical services, stated that there had been “no possibility of resuscitation” following the fall.
