Atalanta striker, Ademola Lookman, has been named Africa’s Best International Footballer at the Ghana Football Awards.
The 26-year-old beat his compatriot, Victor Osimhen, and Burkina Faso defender Edmund Tapsoba to the award.
The former RB Leipzig player scored three times in seven matches for the Super Eagles in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which was held in Cote d’Ivoire.
He also had a memorable campaign for Atalanta domestically and in Europe, where he caught the eye, netting a hat-trick in La Dea’s UEFA Europa League final victory over Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.

The player registered 17 goals and 10 assists across all competitions for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side last season.
He also won Atalanta’s Player of the Season award for the second consecutive campaign.
