The government of Brazil has announced a new strategic roadmap aimed at cutting national reliance on fossil fuels and accelerating the transition toward clean energy, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said on Wednesday.
The plan includes gradual reduction in fossil-fuel consumption, expansion of renewable energy infrastructure, incentives for clean-energy adoption, and policies to curb greenhouse-gas emissions in transportation and industry.

The initiative comes amid growing international pressure to address climate change, and Brazil’s government said it intends to align with global commitments while ensuring energy security and economic growth.
