Manchester United sack manager Ruben Amorim

Manchester United have sacked their manager, Ruben Amorim, 14 months after he took charge at Old Trafford. The Premier League club confirmed the decision in a statement released on Monday.

The club said the move was taken reluctantly, with Manchester United currently sixth in the Premier League standings. It added that the leadership believed it was the right time to make a change.

Ruben Amorim, a Portuguese coach, was appointed in 2024 and oversaw a mixed run of results in domestic competition. His tenure included league and cup fixtures during the current season.
