Comedian Mark Angel has called on residents of Rivers State to refrain from opposing the state of emergency declared by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday night.
In a message posted on his Instagram page, Angel claimed that certain groups were planning to organise protests across the state in response to the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara. He urged the public to avoid such demonstrations.

He argued that the dispute was a matter between the governor and the Federal Government, rather than an issue for the people of Rivers State.
Angel suggested that tensions escalated after one of the parties involved failed to honour an agreement, but insisted the dispute remained between the key actors, rather than the general public.
