The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has granted approval for Max Air to restart domestic flight operations following a successful safety and economic audit.
The airline had voluntarily suspended its domestic services for 90 days from 29 January 2025 after a series of operational incidents. The NCAA welcomed the decision and used the period to conduct a detailed review of the airline’s safety and financial standing.

A statement from NCAA spokesman Michael Achimugu confirmed that a comprehensive audit took place between 26 and 28 February, assessing Max Air’s organisation, procedures, personnel, and aircraft in accordance with Nigeria’s Civil Aviation Regulations 2023.
With the resumption now approved, the NCAA has pledged to maintain close oversight through an enhanced surveillance programme to ensure continued compliance with safety standards.
