Journalist Mohamed Salama, a broadcaster on Al-Aqsa satellite channel, has been killed in the bombing of a house in the city of Deir al-Balah.
According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, the number of journalists killed in Gaza since the war began on October 7 has increased to 133.

The Committee to Protect Journalists, CPJ, says Seventy-two of the 99 journalists killed worldwide in 2023 were Palestinians reporting on Israel’s war on Gaza, making those 12 months the deadliest for the media in almost a decade.
The CPJ is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation, based in New York City which focuses on promoting press freedom and defending the rights of journalists.
