Iranian media say missiles fired by the United States and Israel have struck two schools in the town of Parand, southwest of Tehran. The semi-official Fars news agency reports that the attack damaged classrooms and nearby residential buildings.
Photographs released by the agency showed debris inside what appeared to be a classroom. Reports also said several housing units close to the schools were affected by the strike.
The development comes six days after an attack on a girls’ school in the southern Iranian city of Minab. Iranian authorities say 165 people, most of them girls aged seven to twelve, were killed in that strike and at least 95 others were injured.

United States officials say they were unaware that a school had been hit in the earlier attack, while some Israeli sources claim the location was part of an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps facility.
