Veteran Nollywood actress Moji Afolayan has disclosed that her sudden absence from the screen for over a decade was due to being blacklisted by film marketers.
In an interview, the 57-year-old actress revealed she was sidelined after refusing sexual advances from industry gatekeepers. According to her, marketers once controlled funding for film production and often demanded sex in return for roles—an arrangement she says she rejected on principle.

She also criticised the widespread practice of sexual favours in the industry, noting that even some married actresses allegedly participated while their spouses waited outside.
She said the boycott affected her earnings and visibility but maintained that preserving her dignity was more important.
Now married to fellow actor Ojopagogo, the actress added that the shift to digital platforms like YouTube has reduced filmmakers’ dependence on marketers.
