Mojisola Meranda has resigned as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, just seven weeks after assuming the position. She announced her resignation during plenary on Monday.
Lawmakers commended Meranda for her leadership style and efforts in fostering peace within the Assembly during her short tenure.

They also praised her strength and humility in adhering to the rules and regulations of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Meranda’s resignation comes amid ongoing political developments in the state legislature, though no official reason has been disclosed.
