The Nigeria Association of the Blind (NAB) has called on the Federal Government to employ mobility orientation officers in all 774 local government areas to train visually impaired persons on the proper use of white canes for safe movement.
Speaking at the International White-Cane Safety Day in Uyo, NAB officials said poor infrastructure and uncovered drainages endanger the blind, urging government to create safer and more inclusive environments.

NAB President Stanley Onyebuchi commended the Akwa Ibom government’s support and called for ICT training to empower visually impaired citizens across Nigeria.
