NAF Intensifies North-East Air Offensive

The Nigerian Air Force says it has eliminated 592 terrorists and destroyed 372 enemy assets in Borno in eight months — already surpassing last year’s operational gains.

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, told Governor Babagana Zulum that day-and-night precision strikes had dismantled 206 technical vehicles and 166 logistics hubs from Gonori to Mallam Fatori.

The campaign, he said, was bolstered by A-29 Super Tucanos, Mi-171 helicopters and advanced surveillance systems, with 798 combat sorties flown and 1,500 hours logged. A new Mi-35 gunship is expected to further intensify operations.

Air Marshal Abubakar praised Borno’s blend of community-led peacebuilding and military force. Governor Zulum hailed the NAF’s role in degrading insurgents and protecting civilians, saying their actions had saved lives and allowed communities to rebuild.
