NAFDAC Seizes Fake Alcohol Worth ₦180m in Lagos Raid

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has confiscated counterfeit alcoholic beverages valued at over ₦180 million during a raid on a makeshift factory in Lagos.

The operation, carried out at the Oke Arin market on Lagos Island, followed a tip-off about the illegal production of alcohol. Among the seized items were fake versions of well-known brands, reportedly being manufactured in unsanitary conditions.

NAFDAC said that the prime suspect, identified as one Mr. Tochukwu Henry, admitted to refilling bottles labeled as Rémy Martin with contents from ST-Rémy. He allegedly employed two others to aid in the fraudulent activities.
