NAHCON Opens 2026 Hajj Licensing for Travel Agencies

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, has begun accepting applications from travel agencies seeking licences and slot allocations for the 2026 Hajj. Interested firms have until 15 September 2025 to register. The Commission stressed that only companies meeting corporate, financial, and regulatory standards will be considered, including registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission, IATA approval, and a proven track record in Hajj or Umrah services.

NAHCON also highlighted Saudi Arabia’s strict stance on visa compliance. Pilgrims caught performing Hajj without the proper visa risk a fine of 20,000 Riyals, which is about ₦8.15m, and imprisonment. Agencies are therefore required to present credible packages, flight and accommodation arrangements, and secure reputable guarantors.

The Commission warned that firms with outstanding debts, unresolved complaints, or unapproved accommodation will be disqualified. It assured applicants of a transparent process, while reminding stakeholders that the deadline for securing Masha’ir Camp booking is 4 January 2026.
