The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has refunded over ₦301.56 million to 4,936 pilgrims from Kebbi State who participated in the 2023 Hajj. Each pilgrim is to receive ₦61,080 as compensation for services not rendered during the pilgrimage.
This was disclosed by the Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Faruku Enabo, during a meeting on the refunds. He confirmed that the funds had been deposited into the agency’s account for distribution to the beneficiaries.
Mr. Enabo stated that the refund process began after informing the state governor, who directed him to proceed.

The Chairman urged the council leaders to monitor the exercise and ensure all affected pilgrims receive their money. He also assured that security agencies would oversee the process to prevent any irregularities.
