The naira continued its downward trajectory against the U.S. dollar, closing at N1,660.49 in the official Investors and Exporters window. 

This latest depreciation aligns with recent data from the National Bureau of Statistics,NBS, which reported that petrol prices surpassed the N1,000 mark in September 2024.

Despite the 0.05% decline in the currency’s value, trading volumes soared, with market turnover hitting $330.18 million, representing a sharp rise from the $177.10 million posted during the previous session.
