The Nigerian Navy’s Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Igbokoda has intercepted a wooden boat carrying about 100,000 litres of stolen crude oil along the Idiogba-Mahin coastline in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The Commanding Officer of the base, Captain Aliyu Usman, disclosed this on Thursday during a media briefing at the site of the seizure. He explained that the operation was based on credible intelligence.

Captain Usman stated that the Navy’s Quick Response Team was immediately deployed and successfully intercepted the boat loaded with the stolen crude oil. He added that the team also recovered items used for illegal bunkering, including discharge hoses and pumping machines.
The operation underscores the Navy’s continued efforts to combat crude oil theft and illegal bunkering activities in the region.
