The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has announced plans to impose further sanctions on airlines that continue to violate consumer protection regulations. Michael Achimugu, the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, revealed this on Tuesday.
The announcement follows the authority’s earlier penalties on five airlines for similar violations. These violations include delays in passenger refunds, failure to respond to NCAA directives, issues with missing or mishandled luggage, short-landed baggage, and problems related to flight cancellations.

Achimugu confirmed that the airlines involved had received their sanction letters for consumer protection infractions on February 7. The NCAA has pledged to continue its efforts to ensure better service for passengers and compliance with consumer protection laws.
