The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority says sanctions await social media personalities Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, and comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, popularly called Mr Jollof, after a fight broke out aboard a United Nigeria Airlines aircraft. The altercation occurred during the boarding of Flight UN0523 from Asaba to Lagos on Monday morning.
NCAA spokesperson Michael Achimugu described the incident as unacceptable behaviour that endangered passengers and crew. He said both men would face the law and confirmed that the Authority is awaiting a formal incident report from the airline, noting that officers in Asaba have been directed to verify the actions of aviation security and crew.
United Nigeria Airlines confirmed the incident and said the crew acted promptly to deescalate the situation. The airline said both men were deboarded without delay and handed over to airport security, adding that the flight departed safely afterwards.

Mr Achimugu said the Authority does not have prosecutorial powers but would advise the airline to blacklist the passengers and refer the matter to the Attorney General and the Inspector General of Police for possible prosecution. He added that the fight stemmed from an ongoing online dispute between the two men.
