The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has provided skills training for 33,692 unemployed women, youths, and persons with disabilities across Nigeria as part of efforts to tackle unemployment.
NDE Director-General Silas Agara announced the figures on Tuesday during the resettlement of beneficiaries under the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative in Kaduna. He stated that participants received training in vocational skills, entrepreneurship, and business management to enhance their employability and economic prospects.

The initiative was launched in December 2024, with training commencing the same month. Mr Agara, who was represented by the NDE North-West Zonal Director, Malam Shehu Danjuma, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to equipping Nigerians with the skills needed for self-sufficiency and job creation.
