Ndifreke Effiong has completed a move back to the Iraqi League, joining Newroz Sports Club after leaving Nigeria’s Rivers United. The 26-year-old striker has been unveiled by the club following a successful mandatory medical test.

The towering forward is no stranger to success, having won the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title with Akwa United in 2021. Effiong also played a key role in helping Nigeria’s U-23 team win the bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.

His move to Newroz SC marks another chapter in his professional career as he looks to continue making an impact in the Iraqi league.
