The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has declared four suspected drug dealers wanted in connection with ongoing trafficking activities. The agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, announced the move on Monday, revealing that the suspects are linked to a notorious Lagos-based drug kingpin, Suleiman Aremu Ganiu, also known as Barryshine, who is currently facing charges in a federal high court in Lagos.
Babafemi confirmed that the wanted individuals are associates of Ganiu, who was arrested on August 26, 2024. Ganiu, the managing director of Barryshine Suleiman Nigeria Ltd., had been under investigation by the NDLEA for two years before his capture. He is accused of masterminding a series of failed attempts to export cocaine to Saudi Arabia and Qatar via the Murtala Muhammed International Airport between 2022 and 2024.

The NDLEA spokesperson highlighted that several individuals, or “mules”, working for the drug syndicate have been arrested, prosecuted, and convicted. Ganiu’s arrest follows multiple operations by the anti-narcotics agency, which has made significant progress in disrupting the international drug trafficking network linked to his cartel.
Following a directive from the federal high court in Lagos, the NDLEA has intensified its efforts to locate and apprehend the remaining suspects involved in these criminal activities. The agency is urging the public to report any information that could assist in the arrest of these individuals.
