Newly appointed APC National Chairman, Mr. Nentawe Yilwatda, has pledged to take decisive steps to reposition Nigeria’s ruling party, vowing to combine firmness with teamwork.
Speaking hours after his emergence in Abuja, Mr. Yilwatda said he would draw inspiration from President Bola Tinubu’s calm but resolute leadership style, promising to act boldly in the party’s collective interest.

He outlined plans to deepen internal unity and expand APC’s political reach by wooing more governors from rival parties. The APC currently controls 23 states, having recently gained defections from the governors of Akwa Ibom and Delta States.
Mr. Yilwatda also vowed to tap into the experience of past party leaders and focus on implementing the APC manifesto.
A former INEC commissioner and ex-minister, Mr. Yilwatda said his broad public service experience had prepared him for the task ahead.
