New DNA Technology to Track Down Foreign Aid Workers Who Have Sexually Abused Women and Girls in West Africa

Research by Professor Andrew MacLeod from King’s College London will track down foreign aid workers who have sexually abused women and girls in West Africa will be tracked down using DNA technology. The findings will be revealed in a conference in the second quarter of this year. 

Prof. Macleod, the lead researcher, said this move to Africa is coming after a pilot study in the Philippines, where researchers matched six children to fathers from Australia, Canada, the United States and Britain – the children were fathered through sex tourism or in relation to foreign aid work.
