A new Nollywood advocacy film, ‘Single and Seasoned’, has premiered in Abuja, highlighting the stereotypes and pressure faced by single career women in Nigerian society. Produced by Dosh Motif Ltd., the film explores the social deprivation many unmarried women experience, even within their own families.
Shot in the Federal Capital Territory, the production features Nazareth Jesse, David Allgreen, Joy Ugbem, Linda Akohol and producer Dooshyma Kumbur. Director Emmanuel Eyaba, who also serves as spokesman for the Directors Guild of Nigeria, said the film aims to challenge the perception that women over 40 must marry to be deemed successful.

Ms. Kumbur said many single women face pressure from family, church and the workplace, adding that the film encourages them to pursue fulfilling careers without succumbing to stigma.
