The Nigeria Governors’ Forum says state governors are committed to enhancing security across the country during the festive season to ensure a safe and incident-free yuletide.
The forum said the commitment followed a communication from the Office of the National Security Adviser, calling for heightened preparedness due to increased travel, public gatherings and security risks during the period.
In a statement after its eighth meeting on December 17, signed by its chairman and Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the forum said governors would strengthen inter-agency coordination, protect critical infrastructure and maintain visible security presence in identified hotspots nationwide.
