The Managing Director of Nigeria Air, Mr. Dayo Olumide says the aeroplane that landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on 26th May 2023, was chartered from Ethiopia.
Mr Olumide said this while fielding questions from the Senate Committee on Aviation, where the Chairperson, Senator Biodun Olujimi expressed displeasure when she said the entire arrangement of Nigeria Air was shrouded in suspicion.
Mr. Olumide says the aircraft was a legitimate charter flight which did not need to have a licence.Â

He added that the unveiling was done to show what the real aircraft will look like and also to let shareholders know as well.
Similarly, the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation says it will not allow fraudulent individuals or groups to syphon Nigeria’s commonwealth through the Nigeria Air project.
