Nigeria Calls For Two-State Solution To Palestine-Israel Conflict

The Federal Government says only a two-state solution will end the Israeli-Palestinian age-long conflict.

While speaking with the press after a meeting with the Palestinian Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Abdallah Abu Shawesh, yesterday evening, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, said Nigeria believes both parties have a right to an independent state.

The Minister lamented that innocent civilians were being killed in the conflict, calling on both parties to stop hostilities.

Ambassador Tuggar also said Nigeria, which voted in favour of a cessation of hostilities, stands against the wanton and indiscriminate violence against civilians in Gaza.
