Nigeria and China are set to strengthen their fast-growing trade relations through the 2025 China Commodities Expo-Nigeria, scheduled for 5–7 November in Lagos. The event will feature over 250 Chinese manufacturers and more than 5,000 Nigerian and international business representatives.
Organisers say the Expo, first launched in 2007, has become one of Nigeria’s biggest trade events, designed to link local entrepreneurs with global supply chains. It comes at a time when bilateral trade has surged past $20 billion annually, making Nigeria China’s second-largest African trading partner.

China has also invested more than $1.5 billion in Nigerian free trade zones, creating thousands of jobs. The 2025 Expo is expected to consolidate this momentum, providing Nigerian firms with opportunities to secure contracts, attract financing, and build long-term partnerships that strengthen competitiveness at home and abroad.
