Nigeria Has Brains, Energy and Youth to Excel says Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has told Nigerians in Brazil that the country has the brains, energy and youth needed to excel but must now take decisive action. He said Nigeria once stood on the same economic level as Brazil but had fallen behind, stressing that his visit was aimed at drawing lessons from the South American nation’s development.

In remarks shared by his media adviser, Bayo Onanuga, the president pledged transformation through innovation, reform, and inclusive growth. He said the government was committed to food sovereignty, technology, and the courage to change the country’s destiny.

Tinubu praised the Nigerian diaspora community, describing them as key partners in nation-building. He urged them to contribute their skills and resources to strengthen innovation, culture, and shared responsibility at home.

The president also acknowledged the hardship caused by ongoing economic reforms, likening them to “bitter medicine,” but insisted the long-term cure would be worth the pain. Nigerian community leaders in Brazil commended his efforts to strengthen bilateral ties, noting the rising number of Nigerian postgraduate scholars in the country.
