Nigeria has recorded crude oil production of about 1.45 million barrels per day, making it the largest producer in Africa, according to the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). The figure was contained in OPEC’s latest monthly oil market report on member states’ output levels.
The data shows Nigeria overtook other African producers, including Angola, during the period under review. OPEC said the increase reflects improved production levels from Nigerian oil fields and better operational performance in the sector.
