Nigeria’s crude oil output rose to 1.50 million barrels per day in July, meeting its OPEC quota for the third time this year.
Figures in the oil cartel’s latest monthly report show production at 1.507 million barrels per day — a marginal rise from June’s 1.505 million barrels per day — the highest since January. The data, sourced directly from Nigerian authorities, confirm the country’s status as Africa’s top producer, ahead of Algeria at 1.37 million barrels per day.

OPEC compiles production figures from both member state reports and secondary industry sources. The group said overall production by its members and allies averaged 41.94 million barrels per day in June, up 335,000 barrels per day month-on-month.
Separately, Nigeria’s upstream regulator, NUPRC, reported higher July output, claiming production crossed 1.8 million barrels per day, though OPEC’s tally remains the reference for quota compliance.
