Nigeria and India have pledged to enhance cooperation across critical sectors, including economic growth, defence, healthcare, and food security.
In a joint statement issued Sunday after a high-level meeting between Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, both leaders underscored the robust economic partnership between the nations. India, Nigeria’s largest trading partner, plays a vital role in the country’s economy.
The Nigerian government acknowledged the contributions of over 200 Indian firms operating within its borders, noting their significant impact on job creation and investment.
On boosting trade, Tinubu and Modi instructed officials to expedite the finalisation of pending agreements aimed at expanding bilateral commerce. Both leaders expressed optimism about forging deeper ties to benefit their nations.
