The Federal Government of Nigeria has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Brazil’s Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) to strengthen private sector development in agriculture. The partnership aims to advance fertiliser production, hybrid seed technology, and agricultural finance, laying the groundwork for sustainable food security.
The signing by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Mr Temitope Fashedemi, and the President of FGV, Professor Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, took place at FGV Headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on the sidelines of the G20 Leaders’ Summit.

According to a statement released by the Nigerian Presidency and signed by the Director (Information & Public Relations), Abiodun Oladunjoye, on Sunday, this collaboration represents a major milestone under the Green Imperative Project, a significant international agricultural technology transfer initiative.
