Nigeria is set to host the African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship, with more than 20 countries expected to compete for top honours in Abuja from April 1 to 14.
The announcement was made by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, during a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, in the capital.

Seeking the commission’s backing, Mr Adeniyi underscored the Nigeria Customs Service’s commitment to sports development, stressing the need to nurture talent at all levels.
In response, Mallam Dikko reaffirmed the commission’s support and reiterated the government’s broader vision of developing a sustainable sports economy in the country.
