Nigerian artistes earned more than 60 billion naira on the streaming platform Spotify in 2025, a three per cent increase from the previous year.
In its report titled ‘Loud and Clear’, Spotify says the figure reflects growth of over 140 per cent in earnings over the past two years, with Nigerian acts recording 30.3 billion streams and 1.6 billion listening hours.
The company also reports that Nigerian artistes were discovered by first-time listeners more than 1.3 billion times, a 26 per cent rise compared to 2024, while local acts accounted for over 80 per cent of tracks on Spotify Nigeria’s Daily Top 50.

Spotify adds that independent artistes and labels generated about 58 per cent of royalties, as global interest in Nigerian music continued to grow, with the songs appearing in millions of playlists worldwide.
