Nigerian Navy Targets 3 Million Barrels Daily Crude Production by 2025

The Nigerian Navy has reaffirmed its commitment to increasing the nation’s daily crude oil production from 1.8 million barrels to 3 million barrels by December 2025, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s directive. Speaking at the flag-off ceremony of Operation Delta Sanity II in Port Harcourt, Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, said the goal is achievable given the progress made since the operation’s inception.

Vice Admiral Ogalla highlighted that Operation Delta Sanity has effectively curbed crude oil theft, illegal bunkering, and pipeline vandalism, raising daily production from 1.4 million barrels last year to the current 1.8 million barrels. He assured that plans are underway to achieve and surpass the 3 million barrels target, while commending President Tinubu for his continued support to the Navy.

Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Saheed Akinwande, noted that Operation Delta Sanity has been instrumental in tackling oil theft since its launch in January. He disclosed that 315 suspects have been arrested, and multiple dug-out pits and storage tanks deactivated during the operation.

The Navy pledged to intensify efforts to safeguard the nation’s waterways and maintain progress toward achieving the production milestone.
