The Nigeria police force (NPF) has launched a radio station domiciled on 99.1fm in the Federal Capital Territory (F.C.T.), Abuja. The NPF believes this will bring them closer to the people, according to the inspector general of police, Mohammed Adamu, while speaking at the inauguration ceremony yesterday. He says the station’s programming would involve phone-in programmes to involve the citizens in the security of their localities, especially on ways to spot and report crimes.

The Nigeria police 99.1FM radio has since commenced test transmission in line with the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) code and operational regulations.
