Nigeria’s D’Tigress have advanced to the semi-finals of the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket after a dominant 83–47 win over Cameroon in Abidjan. The Nigerian team extended their unbeaten AfroBasket streak to 27 games with the emphatic quarterfinal victory.
Led by Amy Okonkwo’s 18 points, the team outclassed the Lionesses, with support from Nicole Enabosi, Victoria Macaulay, and Elizabeth Balogun. Captain Sarah Ogoke also returned to action, contributing early momentum with a three-pointer.

Coach Rena Wakama praised the squad’s depth and discipline, as all 12 players saw game time and got on the scoresheet. The victory was particularly satisfying, coming against the side that last beat D’Tigress in AfroBasket back in 2015.
The reigning champions now face Senegal in the semi-finals—a side coached by Otis Hughley, the former D’Tigress boss who led Nigeria to multiple titles. Senegal defeated hosts Côte d’Ivoire 66–60 to book their spot in the last four.
