Nigeria’s Exports to China Hit $2.386 Billion In 2023

Nigeria’s exports to China reached just over $2.3 billion in 2023, representing an increase of 49.3% compared to 2022.

This is according to Minister Counselor Wang Yingqi of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, who also says the trade volume between Nigeria and China reached $22.56 billion in 2023.

The Chinese envoy, who was speaking at the China Media Group, CMG, and the University of Abuja seminar in Abuja as part of CMG’s Global Media Dialogue, also says Investment from China reached $363 million.

He named three major investment projects as the Free Trade Zone and Industrial Parks in Lekki, Ogun and Shagamu, adding that Chinese companies were also working with partners from other countries to promote international cooperation.

Minister Counselor Wang Yingqi also added that China was ready to share with Nigeria its strategy of 5i which means Infrastructure, ICT, Industry, Investment, and Import and Export.
