Nigeria’s headline inflation rate eased to 15.10 percent in January 2026 as stated in the latest consumer price index report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The bureau said the moderation reflects changes in food and core inflation components. It added that price pressures have shown signs of gradual decline compared to previous periods.
A year-on-year comparison shows that the average food inflation rate for January 2026 was 20.29%, which is significantly lower than the 38.47% recorded in January 2025.
