Nigeria’s inflation rate dropped to 22.22% in June, down from 22.97% in May, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
The food inflation rate also eased significantly year-on-year to 21.97%, though monthly food prices rose due to costlier items like pepper, tomatoes and crayfish.

Core inflation, which excludes food and energy, rose to 22.76%, while urban areas recorded faster monthly price increases than rural areas.
At state level, Borno recorded the highest inflation at 31.63%, while Zamfara had the slowest at 9.90%.
