Nigerian artists dominated the 2025 Africa Arts and Entertainment Awards, AAEA, with Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Tems, Asake, Ayra Starr, and others securing top honours.
Wizkid’s ‘Piece of My Heart’, featuring US singer Brent Faiyaz, won Best Afro-R&B, while Davido and Chris Brown took home Best Global Collaboration for ‘Hmm’. Asake’s ‘MMS’, also featuring Wizkid, was named Best Afro-Native.

British-Nigerian singer Darkoo claimed Best Diasporan Act with ‘Favourite Girl’, featuring Rema on the remix. Burna Boy was crowned Overall Male Artist in Africa, while South African singer Tyla secured Overall Female Artist and Best Female Artist, Southern Africa.
Tems was honoured as Best Global African Female Artist, while OdumoduBlvck took Best Rapper in West Africa. Seyi Vibez was named Best Male Artist, West Africa, and Ayra Starr won Best Female Artist in the same category.
The results were announced via the AAEA’s official platform.
